For more than twenty years, Mose Tolliver was one of the most influential painters in the field of Outsider Art and Southern self-taught art.  Mose passed away in October of 2006. 

I have always admired his work and can at times, see his influence in my own work.  I was quite fortunate in 2006,  while on my Dodge Folk art pilgrimage, to have met Mose at his home in Montgomery, Alabama.
